Becoming Myself

I have loved the poem, “Now I Become Myself” by May Sarton for many years. Today it came to mind because I can feel myself living into her words. I have been undoubtedly “dissolved and shaken” by life’s challenges and milestones, particularly this past year when I have experienced the ground-altering grief of losing a dear friend and a close relative.  I am in awe of how this poem has “grown in me to become the song.”

“From wish to action, word to silence,
My work, my love, my time, my face
Gathered into one intense
Gesture of growing like a plant.”

What life experiences have dissolved and shaken you?

How are you moving from wish to action like the gesture of a growing plant?
