Laughing at Myself

Last night as I was on my way home I realized that in my posting yesterday I described the "no-pants" dress code from my elementary school years, and I started to giggle! What I meant to say was a skirts-only policy for girls. A no-pants policy sounded like a bunch of school kids walking through the halls with no pants on, and that is NOT what I meant!

I thought about just going back and correcting what I had written, but decided instead to write about the ability to laugh at myself with kindness.  It was a silly, funny moment, only mildly self-deprecating for a fleeting second, followed immediately by gratitude.

Making our fallible humanity visible is a gift to the world–allowing others to see our imperfections without fear.

Now that is a miracle. Happy Chanukah.
