Yesterday one of my favorite teenagers came over and we made chocolate pudding from scratch for the first time. The process was thoroughly delightful, requiring focused, precise timing, measuring, sifting, mixing and texture. The finished product was sublime. Lovely little cups of chocolate velvet bliss.
Sustainable, meaningful growth and healing is akin to this process; it demands time, patience and gentle yet purposeful attention to every nuanced detail. The end result is unequivocally worthwhile, and like the homemade chocolate pudding, can be just as ambrosial and satisfying.
I don't think I'll be able to enjoy instant pudding anymore.
