I can hear your soul
crackle and pop like a bonfire
when the wood is dry and the air is warm
My tasks are simple:
keep the wood well stocked
fan the flames when the breeze wanes
bring marshmallows and songs
wipe your brow with a cool damp cloth
remind you when to rest
and when to get back to the fire
the one that blazes within you
and the one you walk through
Indistinguishable
Inextinguishable
*According to Wikipedia, firewalking "has a long history in many cultures as a test or proof of faith."
