A friend was recently explaining to me about remote sensing, and I was immediately struck by the resonance of this language and technology with the practice of spiritual guidance. Sometimes we are so UP CLOSE to an issue in our lives that we are unable to perceive it from multiple perspectives. We need some distance and time to give us new ways of discerning what is coming next.
