Write Your Story, Sing Your Song

I’ve been writing songs and stories my whole life.

As a schoolgirl waiting for the school bus every morning, I would walk on the curb like a tight rope and create songs and stories to keep me company. Songs about the worms and crocuses. Stories about falling leaves and a new pair of shoes for the beginning of the school year. Stories with friends, not bullies, in the schoolyard with me. Story seeds are in the heart.

Stories have always kept me company. Stories pour out of me like breath. Now I am also a story-tender – listening to and witnessing the stories of others. There is a song in the story for every chapter of our lives. It is already being written. Written in the body and on the body.

What is your song/story waiting to be expressed today?
